Launching Tomorrow with a Simple Invitation

If a company isn’t in a constant “living-breathing” state of innovation, it risks irrelevancy. FM, always an innovator, was committed to creating next-gen breakthroughs to address the next-gen risks their clients face. Their innovation initiative was to be an ideation engine that would help to build an entrepreneurial environment and accelerate new thinking. The question was, how do you get both internal and external audiences to enthusiastically engage? The answer? Invite them.

The Strategy

Through a companywide Innovation Challenge, FM crowdsourced exciting new ways to solve existing and emerging client problems. We branded the effort “Launchpad.”

“How big ideas get off the ground.” Our campaign reminded people that while it only takes one idea to change an industry, imagine what 5,500 can do. With a focus on technology, insurance and loss prevention, we encouraged people to bend the rules, break convention and build the future of resilience.

The Success

The Innovation Challenge was considered a success. It exceeded benchmarks for similar employee innovation efforts. The number of unique visitors to the site was double the industry average. And idea submission, the real goal of the undertaking, also surpassed industry benchmarks.
