Hatching a Smarter Way to Grow Wealth
Wealth management is basically a default offering for larger financial institutions. But for smaller community banks, it’s tough to compete. And with robo-advisors offering an alternative to consumers, the smaller players continued to miss out. But not after Nest Egg.
Nest Egg is an investment platform that lets smaller banks offer wealth solutions to their clients, without the overhead of hiring specialists. And it equips consumers to invest smartly using a risk-adverseness rating (that just so happens to be based on a Nobel Prize–winning algorithm).
It was groundbreaking, but it was unfamiliar. While the online format was tried-and-true, most community bank customers weren’t used to seeing a third-party electronic kiosk in their local branch.
The Strategy
Our task was twofold: Explain what Nest Egg was and demonstrate how their custom investment tools were a better and more user-friendly way to grow your portfolio and save for the future. We began with a simple but critical branding exercise, developing a logo and beginning to shape Nest Egg’s identity.
From there, we set to work on key collateral pieces that introduced the risk number as the foundation of a simple, set-it-and-(almost)-forget-it portfolio that works hard for you and your goals. These pieces included a rack card for kiosk distribution as well as a longer-form sales brochure to help banks familiarize customers with the concept and explain its benefits. Nest Egg was as much online as they were in-branch, so we also built them a landing page to serve as an informational hub and conversion point, offering customers the chance to find their risk number or schedule a consultation.
The Success
The brand launch was a resounding success, with Nest Egg emerging as a viable contender in the wealth management space—and the brand continuing to grow in the years that followed. In fact, they were named a Best Advisor for 2023 by USA Today.
